1/31/2007 - Law would protect rights of moms fleeing polygamy

The AZ Senate President has appointed JFC Regional Director, Donnalee Sarda, to the Domestic Relations Committee.

This important post helps develop and report recommended changes in the training standards of "court actors" who conduct investigations or report on domestic violence, child abuse and child custody matters in family court.

These reports go directly to the Governor, the Senate and House of Representatives, Supreme Court, Secretary of State every year.

This fills a child advocacy agency vacancy on the committee. With JFC's exposure to hundreds of family court cases with child abuse allegations, including those in highly contested custody situations, we are in a unique position to understand problems and "cracks" in the investigations and reports.

Others on the committee include Senators, Representatives, Judges, psychologists, and parents.

Donnalee says, “I am privileged to fill the position vacated by Children's Action Allliance. I am delighted for this opportunity to share my twenty years in abuse prevention and an education in counseling psychology to provide accurate, objective information to those concerned with supporting the best interests of children”.
